Meet the artist! Karla Pirona is a figurative oil painter whose work serves as a bridge between cultural inheritance and contemporary experience. She is the pioneer of Venezuelan Neorealism, a pictorial movement rooted in the psychological depth of mestizaje and the diasporic experience, which explores how identities are formed at the intersection of history, geography, and time. Karla's work has been shown internationally and is held in numerous public and private collections, continuing to document the evolution of place and identify through the lens of Narrative Realism. A local artist, Karla is a member of the American Artist Professional League, the National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society, Bartow Art Guild, the Portrait Society of America, and the Polk County Arts & Cultural Alliance.

Artist Reception honoring Vilma Guttenberger, who was influenced by Durer, Rubens, Murillo, Rembrandt, and especially Vermeer. Her later years were spent in Winter Haven and Lakeland. Vilma's daughter Veronika graciously loaned the works for this exhibit

Works by 10 Central Florida artists blur the boundaries between sculpture, craft, and conceptual art, emphasizing slowness, tactility, and process in contrast to mass production and digital speed.  

Open Saturdays, 10-4. Public Artist Reception on June 8, 6pm. Artists will begin picking up their work on June 27 at 3pm

This much-anticipated annual exhibit presents recent works by Guild members. Open Saturdays from 10am to 4pm; exhibit closes on May 30 at noon. Awards reception and Meet the Artists May 11 from 6–8 pm.

Monthly basketry gathering! Bring a Work in Progress or learn the Technique of the Month...weaving is always better with other weavers! April technique: Coiling. Marcia Morse Mullins will demonstrate and teach how to make a basic coiled medallion with pine needles. Materials provided. FREE, but please register so we have a rough head count.

Join instructor Cheryl Hughes for a whimsical underwater painting class inspired by her solo exhibit, Surround Yourself Under the Sea! In this relaxed, beginner-friendly class, you'll create your own colorful ocean scene on an 8 x 8 gallery-wrapped canvas. Choose your favorite sea creatures - octopus, rays, jellyfish, and more - and she'll guide you step-by-step with easy techniques and plenty of creative freedom. No experience necessary, just come ready to play with color and make waves! All materials provided; students may bring their favorite materials, as well.

Darlene’s watercolor paintings preserve the spirit of Old Florida through landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, and rural life—ranches, roundups, reflections on water, and changing light.

Monthly basketry gathering! Bring a Work in Progress or learn the Technique of the Month...weaving is always better with other weavers! February technique: Looping (AKA Knotless Netting). Marcia Morse Mullins will demonstrate and teach the basic looping technique that is used in basketry. Waxed polyester thread and needle provided; students will have their choice of several forms to loop around. FREE, but please register so he have a basic head count.

In this class we will fractal burn a cutting board to create a cheese display board. We will learn about the burning process and use a hands-off process for creating our designs. We will also learn the steps to clean the burns and fill with color if you desire. Finishing by sealing with a food safe sealer. Each class participant will leave with their very own one of a kind board.  This class will held mostly be outdoors, so please dress for the weather.
