Paper: Materiality & Manipulation

Bartow Art Guild seeks artwork proposals for its upcoming exhibition, Paper: Materiality and Manipulation. .This exhibition will explore the materiality of paper and its metamorphic qualities whether cast, cut, collage, folded, twisted, quilled, woven, stitched, or otherwise manipulated. We are seeking forms that use paper with intention, manipulating its materials and dimensions for visual play or giving them agency to say something new and interesting. 

 

This is an OPEN CALL that invites the participation of artists living in Polk County, Florida. Only works utilizing paper will be considered. Each artist may submit up to 3 artworks for review by the exhibit curator. Examples must be submitted via online form (link below). We encourage submitting early so our curator has time to discuss your artwork with you. We will consider proposed artwork, as long as it can be completed in time for installation on Feb 22. This art exhibit will be held in March 2025 at Momentum Gallery and will be open to the public each Saturday with no admission charge.

  • Exhibition Open Saturdays from March 1 to March 29 (Saturdays, 10am - 4pm)
  • Artist Reception: March 10, 6pm - 8pm
  • Pickup: March 29 (1pm - 4pm) or April 5 (10am - noon)
