Vessel & Form: Contemporary Clay & Fiber Art
This invitational exhibit features works in clay and fiber that blur the boundaries between sculpture, craft, and conceptual art. The exhibition emphasizes slowness, tactility, and process in contrast to mass production and digital speed, offering viewers an immersive experience that foregrounds making as both an artistic and human act. Ten artists from across Central Florida have been invited to create bespoke works for this special exhibit.
Exhibit is open Saturdays, 10am - 4pm. Join us for the Artist Reception on June 8, 6pm to 8pm

Retrospective: Vilma Guttenberger
Born in a Hungarian farming community in 1925, Vilma Guttenberger emigrated to the United States and settled in Pennsylvania, where she pursued an interest in painting. She was influenced by Durer, Rubens, Murillo, Rembrandt, and especially Vermeer. Her work earned awards and commissions, and her paintings have been displayed in Pennsylvania congressional offices. Her later years were spent in Winter Haven and Lakeland, where she died in 2018 at age 93. Vilma's daughter Veronika, an active member of Bartow Art Guild, graciously loaned the works for this retrospective and has made several of her paintings available for purchase.
