MathArt

Bartow Art Guild seeks artwork proposals for its upcoming exhibition, MathArt: Where Numbers Meet Imagination. This art exhibit will be held in January 2025 at Momentum Gallery in Bartow, FL and will be open to the public each Saturday with no admission charge. A public artist reception will be held on Jan 13, 2025.

Exhibition Description: With this exhibition, we strive to demonstrate that the language of mathematics is not just functional; it’s profoundly beautiful. The exhibit will showcase how geometry, symmetry, fractals, algorithms, and data visualizations serve as tools to craft breathtaking patterns and shapes that inspire wonder. Highlights will include geometric harmony such as the golden ratio and tessellations, digital displays that transform equations into vibrant forms of algorithmic art, fractals, and other visualizations that turn numbers into narrative-driven designs. Visitors will be invited to explore the hidden beauty of mathematical principles through stunning installations and digital creations.

This is an OPEN CALL that invites the participation of artists living in Polk County, Florida. All mediums will be considered, in both 2D and 3D works. Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces for review by the exhibit curator. We encourage submitting early so our curator has time to discuss your proposed artwork with you. We will consider proposed works as long as they can be completed in time for installation on Dec 28, 2024. The absolute deadline for submitting art is Dec 20, 2024.
